SerVision SVG-1000 video gateways are located throughout a large industrial facility. Each video gateway has sixteen cameras and a variety of sensors connected to it. All of the units are connected to a local network (LAN) at the site. A security guard in a control room at the facility views live video from the SVGs on a PC that is connected to the same LAN.

Since the SVGs were installed, the company has been able to reduce its security staff by 25%. They no longer have to rely on bored guards staring at monitors all night to be sure no one has broken into the complex; built-in motion detectors and light, door, and window sensors connected to the SVGs keep an eye on the entire site for them. If anyone is about, the SVGs immediately notify the security staff in the control room. In serious cases, they also notify the managers via SMS.
