SerVision Ltd. established at the year 2000 in Israel with the help of private investors. Its holding company, SerVision Plc (incorporated in England and Wales), listed its shares in December 2004 on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange (code SEV). The company has its main operations and R&D facilities in Israel and marketing offices in the U.S., Europe and Mexico.
We live in a security conscious world and remote video surveillance has become an established tool in security management. This is SerVision’s market, providing innovative video surveillance systems for the security industry, combining fully integrated video monitoring systems with state-of-the-art cellular and wireless communication.
SerVision’s products, called Video Gateways, provide live and recorded video transmission from CCTV (closed circuit television) cameras over cellular and IP networks systems for live and recorded video streaming. Video Gateways can send high quality live pictures smoothly over 2.5G and 3G narrowband networks, such as cellular telephones and PDAs, enabling owners or security staff to monitor their offices and homes from anywhere in the world. Cameras are set up at locations around a building, and information is streamed live over cellular and wireless networks to a control center, or to a variety of traditional and next-generation devices. Users can view their premises at all times and receive an automatic alarm and accompanying video if there is a breach of security.
SerVision serves a wide market, from security and law enforcement units utilizing CCTV to any remote operational unit that requires a quality video and cellular communication, such as commercial and retail enterprises. Transportation systems are also proving to be significant in SerVision’s future, given the growing number of terrorist attacks on transportation systems worldwide.
SerVision’s mobile DVR has already won first place in its field at the ISC West 2005 exhibition as well as additional recognition at other exhibitions. SerVision’s unique technology allows streaming of live video over narrowband (cellular) networks, enabling transmission from mobile platforms.
Founder and Chief Executive Gideon Tahan, and a staff of 45 employees with tremendous experience in the video compression and wireless communications industry, SerVision has developed the first completely integrated wireless video monitoring platforms for the security industry. International cellular companies have chosen SerVision’s Video Gateway as their CCTV product, because of its demonstrable superiority. The first prototypes of the SerVision Video Gateway, which include software, hardware and a stand-alone unit, were released in 2002, with production beginning the following year. SerVision already has a number of high-ranking customers, including the Dallas, Texas and Geneva, Switzerland police forces, the Israel Defense Force and the U.S. Navy. SerVision products have been used to secure railway stations, government buildings, oil fields, transportation projects, business offices, electricity sites, pumping stations and banks.
Now SerVision is moving into the retail and residential markets with the Home Video Gateway, a new low-cost, plug-and-play, two-channel product that will be offered to retail market. One of SerVision’s growing segments is the residential market, where 80% of all security spending is currently being spent. SerVision helps secure homes against break-ins, as well as providing supervision at home when parents are away, allowing them to check their mobiles in order to see what’s going on at home. People want to in communication with what is happening at home. SerVision has developed mobile security and remote transmission tools to permit this.
