SERVISION PRODUCTS
SerVision IP-based security systems are powerful, multi-featured video-transmission and recording systems that can be used to monitor virtually any location, from commercial and residential sites to moving platforms. State-of-the-art compression technologies enable SerVision systems to transmit high-quality video over IP networks and to store video with an exceptionally small footprint. The ability to integrate a wide variety of external devices – analog video cameras of all types, remote PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) camera controllers, sensors, alarms, switches and other activators; convenient software for viewing video on-site and off; and automated user notification and device activation turn SerVision systems into complete security solutions for almost any location.
SerVision’s technology belongs to the high-end of the surveillance-equipment market, incorporating intelligent video motion detection (VMD) and featuring long-distance recording with RAID 5 disk drives for fast and reliable backing up of data. Its mobile security system has won top honors at four major international exhibitions of surveillance equipment. The system has been successfully deployed in many types of vehicles, including trains, trucks, and taxis, and is used extensively by police for mobile surveillance.
Video Transmission Over Narrow Bandwidths

One of the main challenges faced by SerVision product developers was finding a way to transmit high-quality video over all types of IP networks. Digital video streams typically require extensive bandwidth. While local home and office LANs normally provide reasonably wide bandwidths, and broadband internet connections typically offer enough bandwidth to transmit considerable amounts of video data, but cellular networks tend to have very limited bandwidths.
At present, roughly 90% of the market for video-transmission services is subject to the constraints of narrow bandwidth. SerVision has developed the most advanced technologies available for handling video in this environment. Innovative compression techniques make it possible to transmit very high-quality video recordings over narrow bandwidths, enabling remote users to view video streams in real-time via PC, mobile phone, or PDA, and significantly enhancing the transmission capacities of IP-based video transmission systems.
Solutions for Every Environment
Customers of all types can find highly effective solutions in SerVision’s line of state-of-the-art DVR systems. All systems offer a complete array of standard features, including:
  •  Real-time video transmission
  • Recording of video streams for later playback
  • Automatic editing of video streams
  • Real-time handling of events such as motion detection or sensor activation, including alarms, notifications, and video recording of the event
  • Remote camera control (PTZ – pan-tilt-zoom)
  • Remote device activation (alarms, lights, sprinkler systems, etc.)
Systems geared to large businesses and large-scale projects contain four to sixteen camera channels, while units that are optimized for home-owners and small businesses have between one and four camera channels.
Even locations that are not connected to the power grid or to wired communications networks can be secured using SerVision equipment. Most systems support for wireless communication via the cellular network or WiFi. Battery-powered units that communicate with control centers via the cellular network can be installed in vehicles or at remote field locations. SerVision’s compression techniques make it possible to transmit high-quality video streams from these devices over the narrowband cellular network. Featuring four camera channels and GPS receivers, mobile systems enable control room staff to see what is happening inside vehicles, to identify their locations, and to track their paths over time.
Complementary Products
Alongside its ground-breaking DVR technologies, SerVision has developed a suite of complementary products, including:
  • SVNVR for automated off-site data back-up
  • SVDistributor for broadcasting live video to multiple clients simultaneously
  • SVProxy for managing data transmission between wireless SerVision servers and client devices that connect to them via the internet
These products reflect SerVision’s commitment to offering customers complete solutions for their security requirements. SerVision prides itself on being a solution provider and not just a product supplier. Many companies in the closed-circuit television (CCTV) sector focus on developing a specific type of device or application, but do not necessarily provide customers with complete setups that meet their needs. Customers may have to purchase other equipment or software to make full use of the products they purchase from these suppliers. SerVision aims to produce a full range of products so that customers can purchase a complete set of compatible security products. To achieve this, SerVision has placed extra emphasis on research and development. While this focus entails additional capital investment, it makes SerVision particularly attractive to large corporate customers and, ultimately, makes SerVision a more profitable company with a very promising future.
